BLAZE TO BRILLIANCE
Audi is one of the world’s leading premium car brands. It is a manufacturer of high-quality and innovative luxury cars and is among the most admired in the world. The basis of its success comprises pioneering concepts in the domains of advanced technology and design. Audi branded vehicles are produced in nine production facilities worldwide.
Audi set up its own sales network in India in March 2007. By establishing Audi India as a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd in Mumbai, Audi made a clear long-term statement in the country with ambitious growth plans. Audi’s goal has been to become the leading automobile luxury brand in the Indian market.
The four rings of the Audi logo represent the four car companies that banded together to create Audi’s predecessor company, Auto Union. Audi’s slogan is ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, meaning “Advantage through Technology”. Since 2007, Audi USA has used the slogan “Truth in Engineering”.
The Audi group has long been one of the most successful car manufacturers in the premium and luxury segment. In addition, the sales subsidiaries of the Audi group supply cars of other Volkswagen Group brands to customers. Since 2012, motorcycles of the traditional Italian brand Ducati have complemented the product range of the Audi group. Audi has made significant investment strategies in branding, marketing, exclusive dealerships and after-sales service for the upcoming years. At present Audi is assembling the Audi A6, Audi A4, Audi Q3, Audi Q5 and Audi Q7 for the Indian market in Aurangabad.
ENGAGEMENT THAT ENTHRALS
Audi is a member of the “German Big 3” luxury automakers, along with BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which are the three bestselling luxury automakers in the world. Along with providing luxury automotives, Audi also believes in systematic protection of the environment as an integral part of the Audi Corporate Social Responsibility. As many as 36,000 oak trees have been planted as part of a unique research initiative through which Audi is underscoring its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. The research topic is the conditions required for forest yield, climate protection and biodiversity.
Audi produces 100 per cent galvanised cars to prevent corrosion, and was the first mass-market vehicle to do so, following introduction of the
process by Porsche in 1975. Along with other precautionary measures, the full-body zinc coating has proved to be very effective in preventing rust. The body’s resulting durability even surpassed Audi’s own expectations, causing the manufacturer to extend its original 10-year warranty against corrosion perforation to 12 years.
A long tradition of environmental protection – Audi’s declared objective is to offer each and every customer driving pleasure and sustainable mobility. Their achievements speak for themselves – sportiness, emotional design, quality and environmental awareness all find a common form of expression in the brand with the four rings.
